Aftercare: Care and Maintenance Guide
The DuPont™
Exterior Care Tips
- Washing the exterior of your vehicle on a frequent basis will help keep the paint finish free of contaminants.
- Never use household detergents or dishwashing liquids to wash the exterior of your vehicle.
- Waxing your vehicle will not harm the exterior protection applied at the dealership.
- Please wait 24 hours after the application of the DuPont™ Automotive Protection product before washing or waxing.
- Most blemishes, such as insects, can be removed through normal washing of the vehicle. For best results, wet the area first and let stand while continuing to wash the vehicle. Continued soaking will allow for easier removal.
- If possible, never wash your vehicle in direct sunlight.
- If you use and sponge or wash mitt, wash and rinse often; these can catch dirt and scratch the finish.
- To prevent water spots, dry your vehicle immediately after washing with a terry cloth towel or chamois.
- When cleaning glass, wet and wipe the entire surface using one cloth. Buff and dry using a second, dry cloth.
- Watch what you wear when washing the vehicle, as belt buckles and clothing embellishments, such as button and rivets, can scratch the finish.
Interior Care Tips
- Always pre-test a small, hidden section of the stain to check for adverse reaction before proceeding with the cleaning.
- Never use a hard bristle brush on upholstered surfaces or allow the stain to set.
- Vacuum all areas thoroughly prior to cleaning.
- Always work a stain from the outside toward the middle to avoid spreading.
- On hard, non-glass surfaces, use a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap to aid in cleaning.
Stain Removal
- With any cleanup, always remember to remove as much of the original spill as possible. Vacuuming is recommended one the area is dry.
